Each year, 45-50 students graduate from
the marketing program. Seventy percent
have jobs at graduation, and 90 percent
have jobs within 90 days of graduation.
Some of the most recent companies hiring
the marketing students are Hibbetts,
Healthspring and Cerner.
NEW FACULTY AND STAFF
• Dr. Thomas Baker joined the
department as an associate professor
in services marketing. Baker received
his doctorate from Florida State
University. He has recently been a
visiting research fellow at Manchester
Business School in the UK. He is
the former director of the Clemson
University’s master’s program in
• Dr. Jack Clampit is an assistant
professor in international business.
Clampit recently received his doctorate
from the University of Memphis. He
is a researcher in the IB arena, with
a number of published papers and
research awards to his credit. Prior
to joining academia, Clampit owned
• Dr. Susan Fant is an adjunct faculty
member in marketing and social
media. Fant received her master’s in
summer program that promotes diversity.
Thirty-two African-American and Hispanic
rising-star juniors attended the program
on marketing. Nine faculty members and
students presented for 90 minutes about
marketing and its specializations. The

Student Association provided 82 hours of
community service to such organizations
as The Brown House and Duncanville
Middle Service Day.
