capacity, is now the program specialist for
AEI that is housed at The Edge in downtown
Tuscaloosa.

The department of management welcomes
Angel Oswalt and Marla Scott, new office
associates II; Larry Baldwin, director of the
Human Resources Institute; Dr. Michael
"Mike" Howe, assistant professor of
management; and Dr. Rachael Smallwood,
instructor of business communication.
The department of economics, finance
and legal studies welcomes Dr. Yan Wang,
assistant professor; Dr. William A. Walsh,
clinical faculty, economics; Dr. Victoria
Javine, clinical faculty, finance; Charlye
Adams, JD, clinical faculty, legal studies;
Dr. Kent Zirlott, clinical faculty, economics;

The department of information systems,
statistics and management science
welcomes Dr. James Cochran, professor;

welcomes Dr. Steve Buchheit, assistant

The marketing department welcomes
Susan Fant as a new clinical instructor
of marketing and the MSM corporate
director for digital and social media
marketing. Jenna Stiffler is the new
director of corporate engagement for
the sales program and teaches MKT 437
Advanced Sales. Barbara Fowler joins
the department as an office associate II.
She brings extensive experience with the
federal government through her previous
work with the Yellowstone National Park.

four new staff members: Danielle Clarke,

Lanett L. Samaniego as assistant events
coordinator and Courtney Page as director
of the Commerce Executives Society.
The Dean's Office welcomes Derika
McGhee, Culverhouse advancement
assistant.
Dr. Lars Powell has been named director
of the new Alabama Center for Insurance
Information and Research.
Powell was a professor of finance and
held the Whitbeck-Beyer Chair of Insurance
and Financial Services at the University
of Arkansas-Little Rock. He earned a
bachelor's degree in insurance and finance
from the University of South Carolina
and a doctorate in risk management
and insurance from the University
of Georgia.
